With this project the client knew exactly what she wanted, with a couple pages from a magazine we took it from there. We got started with a sufficient amount of time to properly plan out the renovation, which helped make it a great success! The main focus for this bathroom was creating a shower that both she and her husband would enjoy but also creating a spa bath environment for her to enjoy after a long day.
The original space was a perfect size bathroom but it was missing that open feeling and the client’s personality. As the design process unfolded, always keeping functionality in mind, the space transformed from drab to “I want to have a spa day, every day”.
We used natural stone tile to compliment the quartz countertop that was chosen. We also added a luxurious freestanding acrylic tub that gave her the relaxation elements that she wanted. The biggest element that needed to be addressed during the planning phase was the shower; it needed to be large but function within the space as well. The seat/ledge became the main topic of the design discussions. Originally, there was a seat plus a ledge across the back, but it took away too much floor space. Then it was designed on the opposite side but this made the shower head too close to the door. Finally, the seat became a simple ledge to put your shampoo bottles on as well as a place to rest your foot when shaving. This is why having a design program is so important when planning- These decisions are made even before demolition begins!
Finishing touches of the bathroom includes riobel fixtures, custom 10mm glass, and a textured glass light fixture for the custom shaker style vanity.
Everything got done on time and stress free thanks to efficient planning of the bathroom’s overall design. We were able to include everything the client wanted and needed for her secret spa getaway.
